Incisional Hernia

An incisional hernia is a break in the abdominal wall at the site of a previous surgical incision. This is a type of ventral hernia. Medial incisional hernias occur more frequently than in other locations. It can be a permanent hernia with all herniated components of the defect, sac, and contents.
